In the book Mexican White Boy, Uno punches Danny after Manny gets hit with a bat that Danny was holding. Uno resorted to violence even though it was probably an accident, and his motives for punching him were probably a culmination of stressed relations with his separated father and mother, and that fact that Danny's presence upset the normality of the derby.
